Luke 2, we find the account of Mary's faithfulness during a pivotal moment in the birth of Jesus Christ. Here, we see Mary's response to the extraordinary events surrounding the birth of her son, as well as her faithful acceptance of God's plan. Below are key points of Mary's faithfulness in this chapter:
1. Mary's Trust in God's Plan (Luke 2:1-7)
In the opening verses of Luke 2, Mary and Joseph travel to Bethlehem for a census. Though the journey is difficult and dangerous (especially considering Mary was pregnant), Mary demonstrates faith by following God's plan for the birth of Jesus.
Despite the lack of a comfortable place for Jesus to be born, Mary accepts this humble setting, which fulfills the prophecy that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2).
Mary trusted God’s plan to be the best. (She did not even complain about putting her newborn son in a feeding trough to keep him clean!)
May we seek God’s best this Christmas, even if we don’t understand all of it.
